Our client can be flexible with the start date, as of course, their current doctor will finish when the new locum can start however, we would prefer someone who can come in the earlier part of 2009.

Locum General Surgeon (August to November or longer)
POSITION SUMMARY

Our client is seeking a General Surgeon to join their team of Surgeons.  We are ideally seeking a General Surgeon who can perform endoscope procedures.  The Operating Theatres consist of four main operating theatres and one minor operating theatre, a post anaesthetic care unit and sterile services that provide a service to all surgical disciplines and obstetric services.    Surgical disciplines include:    General Surgery, ,Orthopaedics, Gynaecology, Ear Nose Throat, Ophthalmology, Dental Surgical Day Unit.

The Surgical Day Unit is a 12-bed unit, providing a service for surgical day cases, an increasing number of medical day cases and pre-admission clinics. This job is situated in a coastal city, within easy distance of New Zealand’s famed North Island ski fields.  The area also offers an impressive array of sporting and recreational facilities and venues.  The city’s near by river provides facilities for rowing, sailing, canoeing, water skiing and windsurfing.  The city also boasts excellent sporting facilities and has an international reputation as being one of the finest sports training regions in the world.

Paediatric Speech-Language Therapist/Pathologist
POSITION SUMMARY
Our client Hospital is seeking a Paediatric Speech-Language Therapist to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team providing Language, Communication,and feeding assessment and recommendations as part of the Assessment Team. The position also provides inpatient and outpatient assessment and intervention for children ages 0-16 with feeding concerns and works closely with Special Care Baby Unit. Staff responsibilities will be supervision of students and junior staff as required. You will report to Team Leader, Child Development Service, Service Manager, Woman and Children’s Health and you will have working relationships with Patients, Whanau/family, caregivers, Child Development Service members,Special Care Baby Unit and Children’s Ward staff, Paediatric Dietician, District Health Board Staff,Group Special Education and Early Childhood Providers in the hospital’s local Area.

POSITION SUMMARY
Our client Hospital is seeking a Paediatric Physiotherapist for their Child Development Service who provide assessment and intervention for children aged from 0 years up to 16 years in a multidisciplinary outpatient service. The physiotherapist works as a member of the team, providing a comprehensive assessment and treatment service for children aged 2-16. The position involves working both within the hospital and in the community liaising with parents, preschools, and schools and appropriate Community Agencies. Within this position you will have supervision of junior staff and students as required. You will be reporting to the Team Leader, Child Development Service and have working relationships with Children and their families/caregivers, Members of Child Development Service, Health Staff, Education professionals and Community Support agencies.

Medical Officer
POSITION SUMMARY

As an experienced medical practitioner, you will appreciate the benefits of working in an interesting, diverse and challenging environment.  This rural hospital and health centre allows for less specialisation and more a broad-spectrum approach to medicine.  Not only will you enjoy closer relationships with your patients and the support of a well-established team of experienced nurses, but you will also have time for lunch!

You will be directly responsible for patients in the 15-bed acute medical inpatient ward, working in rotation with another Medical Officer.  You will be supported by a visiting physician as well as an on-site 5 Doctor GP practice.  The roster includes after hours hospital cover and after hour's emergency GP cover.

You will be part of the team assisting in the teaching of students.

This modern facility offers services to a rural community of 17,000 people and includes outpatient clinics, a maternity unit, a palliative care unit, X-ray, Lab and a mobile surgical bus service.
